General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.

In a bakery, weighing flour, filling the mixer and shaping dough can put dust into the air.

Breathing flour dust can contribute to respiratory allergies or asthma. Reducing emissions protects people exposed at work.

For loading the mixer, INRS recommends a long flour sleeve reaching the bottom, adding water before flour and not shaking the bag.

A mixer with a solid cover and local dust extraction are collective measures to discuss with the employer.

A high concentration of flour in the presence of an ignition source can cause fire or explosion. In an ATEX zone, equipment specific to that zone is required, including for vacuuming.

Clean floors and work surfaces daily with a vacuum suitable for flour dust and, in an ATEX zone, for that zone. Avoid a broom and do not use compressed air.
