General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.
At work, earplugs or earmuffs need to suit the actual exposure. Measuring noise helps the employer choose the protection required for the working situation.
Effectiveness also depends on wearing them: removing protection even briefly during exposure reduces its benefit. Ask when and how to wear it correctly.
Comfort matters for continuous use. Report discomfort or a poor fit to your supervisor so that the equipment and its use can be reviewed.
Individual protection belongs within a wider prevention approach. Collective measures, such as quieter machines or acoustic enclosures, take priority when addressing workplace noise.
Describe noisy tasks, their duration and times when you remove protection. These observations support assessment of actual conditions; they do not replace noise measurement.
The employer can seek help from the occupational health and prevention service. Ask which solution will be checked at the workstation and how effectiveness will be monitored.
