General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.

A positive chlamydia test needs a prompt consultation even without symptoms. A doctor or midwife can arrange care; an online result does not itself provide treatment.

The antibiotic is selected and prescribed for your circumstances. Mention possible pregnancy, medicines and difficulty taking treatment. Follow the prescribed duration and do not share medicine with a partner.

Inform partners so they can be tested and treated if needed. They may be infected without knowing and transmit the bacteria back to you; ask the professional whom to notify in your circumstances.

Avoid sex during treatment and ask when to resume after recovery. Symptom relief is not a reason to shorten the prescription or assume a partner does not need assessment.

An early test of cure is reserved for situations including pregnancy, persistent symptoms or treatment difficulties. It differs from repeat screening at three to six months to identify reinfection.

Before ending the consultation, confirm treatment completion, partner management and the next test date. If an unusual symptom appears or persists, contact the doctor rather than waiting for that check.
