General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.

A necklace marketed for teething is still worn around the neck. France’s DGCCRF has identified strangulation and suffocation risks.

A bead or another small part can detach and be inhaled. Assurance Maladie advises avoiding teething necklaces, including amber ones.

DGCCRF also found unsupported therapeutic claims. Natural material or a commercial promise does not establish safety.

For sore gums, comfort your child and gently massage with a thoroughly washed finger or a clean damp cloth.

A clean, compliant teething ring can be refrigerated, but not frozen. Assurance Maladie recommends choosing one without liquid.

Seek medical advice for other symptoms or unusual behaviour. Do not automatically attribute every pain or change in condition to teething.
