General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.
Eye drops are medicines. Before application, check the prescribed product and which eye to treat, especially when using several bottles. Follow each product’s own prescription and leaflet.
Wash your hands with soap and water and dry them before handling the bottle. Put the cap on a clean surface and avoid touching the tip with your fingers.
During application, the tip must not touch the eye or eyelids. If the technique is difficult, ask a professional to demonstrate with your device rather than force or improvise.
Follow the prescribed number of drops and intervals between different products. Extra drops do not make treatment more effective and may increase side effects.
Record when the bottle was opened and follow that product’s stated period after opening. Discard a single-use container after use and do not share a bottle with someone else.
Close the bottle and wash your hands again. Contact the professional following you if difficulties or new symptoms arise. Also disclose other eye drops you use, even for a different reason.
