General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.
For prosthetic or orthodontic treatment, the dentist must provide an estimate listing the planned procedures. This document helps you understand the proposal before giving your agreement.
Ask for an explanation of the procedures, their codes and locations, and the materials used. The estimate also identifies where the prosthesis is made, inside or outside the European Union.
Distinguish the fees, the reimbursement basis and the amount reimbursed by Assurance Maladie. NR means that a procedure is not reimbursable by this insurance.
The alternatives section presents an option without an out-of-pocket balance or, failing that, a moderate balance, where technically possible. Also check whether the practitioner performs that option.
Send the estimate to your supplementary insurer to find out its coverage and any remaining balance. The 100 % Santé category requires, among other conditions, a conventionné dentist and a policy classed as a contrat responsable.
Check the expiry date and ask about anything you still do not understand. Before prosthetic care, the practitioner obtains your agreement; you sign the estimate and indicate the chosen option.
