General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.
Tell the collection team about a recent vaccination before donating blood. Prepare its name and date from the record provided at vaccination or your vaccination booklet.
Have the collection team identify the vaccine and check the conditions. The selection criteria require four weeks after a live attenuated vaccine. For inactivated vaccines or toxoids, the absence of a vaccine-related waiting period is conditional on satisfactory health. Rabies vaccination after exposure to the virus leads to a one-year exclusion from donation; without exposure, satisfactory health is also required.
This distinction is not personal clearance to donate. Recent illness, symptoms, certain treatments or travel may require other precautions or exclusions independently of vaccination.
Complete the preliminary questionnaire and discuss relevant information during the confidential interview with the collection team. The interview checks conditions needed to protect both donor and recipient.
Do not change treatment or postpone vaccination yourself to try to meet donation criteria. Ask the collection team and your health professional how to organise these steps for your situation.
After donating, contact the centre about a relevant problem or forgotten information. Service Public specifically asks donors to report infection or fever within fifteen days of donation; this is donation follow-up, not a post-vaccination waiting rule.
