General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.
If someone has suffered an electrical accident, do not touch them while current may still be flowing. For a household low-voltage accident, switch off the electricity if possible and call 15 or 112 in France. Emergency services will tell you what to do.
Current passing through the body can cause internal injury even when external marks seem minor. A shock with no visible injury is not enough to conclude that everything is fine: the emergency doctor decides what assessment is needed.
Do not use a mains-connected device with wet hands, with your feet in water, in the shower or in the bath. A phone advertised as waterproof does not remove this risk. Charge devices outside damp rooms.
Have the installation checked by a professional whenever you are unsure, particularly if a socket is broken, taken apart or loose. Do not overload a socket with multiple extension blocks. Provide suitable protection for sockets accessible to young children.
Do not touch exposed wires. Avoid running cables under a door or rug, or fastening them with nails or staples, as this can damage them. Old cracked extension leads are hazardous and should be removed from use.
After use, unplug the device without pulling its cable and put it away; put extension leads away too. Do not place a glass or vase of water on an electrical device. Tingling when touching a working device requires calling an electrician.
