General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.

In a baby without symptoms, a foreskin that cannot retract is usual. It gradually becomes more flexible with growth.

Never force retraction: pain, injuries and scarring can cause or worsen pathological tightening.

Wash the baby’s genitals gently with water and soap without exposing the glans.

If retraction remains impossible after age five, discuss it during medical follow-up. Surgery is not automatic.

A retracted foreskin that cannot cover the glans again requires urgent assessment: it may restrict blood circulation.

Redness and swelling with burning urination also need urgent advice. Mon bilan prévention does not replace your child’s examination.
