General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.
ANSM states that flu vaccines have required a prescription in France since 10 July 2026. This affects dispensing: do not assume they can be bought without a prescription because older packaging or older information does not mention one.
A required prescription does not automatically mean a prior doctor’s consultation. ANSM also lists midwives, pharmacists and nurses as authorised prescribers. The professional checks the conditions within their scope of practice before arranging the next step.
For flu vaccination, Ameli states that a pharmacist can prescribe and administer the vaccine from age 11. For a younger child, ask their doctor or midwife to clarify the pathway; booking a pharmacy appointment does not replace that check.
ANSM states that access through the coverage voucher remains unchanged during the seasonal campaign. Bring the voucher you have and your Carte Vitale, then confirm the documents required. Prescription requirements and reimbursement conditions are separate questions.
Labelling is being updated gradually, and previously manufactured boxes may still be used. The box’s appearance therefore does not establish the current rule; ask the pharmacist rather than compare packaging alone.
Before booking, ask: ‘Can you check the prescription and documents needed for my flu vaccination?’ If the pharmacy pathway is suitable, choose ‘Vaccination antigrippale (Grippe)’ in the vaccination category and confirm the arrangements.

Flu and Covid-19: the 2026–2027 campaign
The national flu and Covid-19 vaccination campaign starts on 13 October 2026. In Doctolib, choose “Vaccination antigrippale (Grippe)” or “Vaccination COVID-19” for the vaccination you want to discuss.
Bring your carte Vitale and, for flu, your coverage voucher if you have one. The professional checks the recommendations and coverage conditions that apply to you.
The pharmacy checks whether vaccination and coverage apply based on the vaccine, your age and your circumstances.
