General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.
Arranging a child’s flu vaccination depends partly on their age. Before choosing an appointment, it helps to distinguish whether vaccination is recommended from which healthcare professional is allowed to provide it.
Children aged two to seventeen without a chronic condition may be offered flu vaccination by the professional who looks after them. This option still involves a discussion of the child’s circumstances.
Children with certain chronic conditions may fall under particular recommendations. A healthcare professional can review this with you, taking account of the care and follow-up your child already receives.
Pharmacists can provide flu vaccination from age eleven. For younger children, a doctor or midwife can vaccinate; a nurse requires a medical prescription. The pharmacy age limit does not apply to every provider.
Prepare your child’s health record and the questions you want to ask. Check which care pathway to follow and which documents to bring before making the journey.
Use the vaccination section to choose the flu appointment type for pharmacy vaccination. For a child under eleven, first confirm the pathway with the professional who follows their care.

Flu and Covid-19: the 2026–2027 campaign

Bring your carte Vitale and, for flu, your coverage voucher if you have one. The professional checks the recommendations and coverage conditions that apply to you.
The pharmacy checks whether vaccination and coverage apply based on the vaccine, your age and your circumstances.
