General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.

DGCCRF advises avoiding temporary black henna tattoos. Being temporary does not rule out allergic reactions.

Paraphenylenediamine, or PPD, may be added to intensify black colouring. Ask which ingredients are used.

ANSM describes skin reactions appearing hours to several weeks after the tattoo.

Sensitisation can be permanent: reactions may recur with other items containing the dye.

DGCCRF also recommends checking ingredients of temporary-tattoo products purchased online.

If in doubt after application, ANSM recommends consulting a doctor or pharmacist.
