Healthcare institutions guarantee people in their care the right to receive any visitor of their choice each day. That choice belongs to the patient.
A visit does not require prior notification to the institution, unless you wish the institution to be notified in advance.
Limits apply: a visit may be prohibited if it threatens public order or poses a health risk.
Before a relative comes, ask about instructions protecting your health and other patients. Request an explanation of any restriction affecting you.
Tell the team your preferences: expected visitors, rest needs and privacy. A chosen visitor does not automatically become your designated trusted person.
If arrangements seem unclear or unsuitable, ask the service for an explanation. The welcome booklet also lists contacts for exercising your rights.
