Treated hypothyroidism: why keep check-ups when I feel better?

Feeling better does not replace TSH monitoring. Confirm your next checks without changing treatment yourself.

General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.

Replacement treatment for established hypothyroidism compensates for missing hormones. Feeling better does not mean that treatment has become unnecessary.

Keep taking treatment regularly as prescribed. Do not reduce the dose or stop on your own initiative.

Blood TSH helps your doctor monitor treatment balance. Ask when to have your next blood test and how to share the result.

After a dose or medicine brand change, a check is generally recommended after six to eight weeks. Confirm your own schedule.

Once balanced, monitoring is usually annual. Palpitations, agitation or returning symptoms are reasons to contact your doctor.

Note changes since your last visit. Mon bilan prévention replaces neither this monitoring nor a consultation for new symptoms.
