General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.
Fruit juice does not count towards daily fruit and vegetable portions. Prefer whole fruit or fruit cut into pieces.
Juice contains little fibre. Whole fruit also involves chewing, which contributes to feeling satisfied after eating.
“No added sugar” does not mean sugar-free: the sugars in juice still need to be limited.
Adults should limit sugary drinks as much as possible and, in all cases, have no more than one glass daily.
Water is the recommended everyday drink. Diet soda is no reason to increase the number of sweet-tasting drinks.
Try replacing one habitual juice occasion with water, and choose a whole fruit when you want a fruit portion.
