General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.
Recent breathlessness requires medical advice that day. If the person cannot finish sentences, has blue lips or becomes confused, call 15 or 112 in France. Explain when the symptoms started, including whether this was during cleaning.
Mixing bleach with an acidic product, such as a descaler, or with ammonia can produce harmful gases. ADEME lists eye irritation, coughing, asthma attacks and nausea. These combinations do not make cleaning safer.
White vinegar is also acidic: do not mix it with bleach or other products. An ingredient being natural does not remove the need for precautions. Limit the number of products instead of making improvised mixtures.
Before using a cleaner, read its instructions and hazard symbols. Follow the stated use and avoid skin contact, eye contact and inhaling hazardous products. Adding more product is not a protective measure.
Open windows during cleaning and keep ventilation inlets and outlets clear. Santé publique France recommends reducing pollution sources and using few household cleaners. Fresh air complements this reduction in products.
A strong smell is not evidence of cleanliness. Air fresheners are not needed for cleaning, and adding essential oils can irritate airways or encourage allergies. Check which products are being used before adding another.
