General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.
During prolonged use, a laptop screen attached to its keyboard makes it difficult to adapt the workstation to the person.
INRS favours connecting the laptop to a docking station with a separate screen, keyboard and pointing device.
If an external screen is not possible, raise the laptop and add a separate keyboard and mouse. The top of the screen is generally at eye level, lower when wearing progressive lenses.
Also adjust the chair and desk: feet should rest on the floor or a footrest, with the back supported.
The layout must leave enough room to change position. Work organisation should also allow breaks and movement.
Describe the actual workstation constraints, including at home, to occupational health or your employer to choose adjustments.
