Prescription with a QR code: what should you bring to the pharmacy?

A QR code identifies the digital prescription. During deployment, you still need to present the paper version supplied by your doctor.

General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.

A digital prescription keeps the prescribing information and adds a QR code linked to a unique number. A pharmacy with compatible software can use this code to retrieve the prescription through the French health insurance system.

The doctor also prints, signs and gives you a paper prescription. During the gradual deployment described by Ameli, you must present it to the pharmacist: a QR code does not mean the paper has become unnecessary.

You remain free to choose your pharmacy. If it cannot process digital prescriptions, dispensing can follow the usual procedure using the paper prescription.

A copy can be saved in Mon espace santé when your space is open and the doctor uses compatible software. If you lack the paper, find this copy and ask the pharmacist which document your situation requires.

The digital format alone does not change medicine coverage rules. It confirms neither immediate stock nor the possibility of renewing treatment without checking the prescription.

During the consultation, the doctor explains the sharing of dispensing information and your option to object. Ask the professional concerned if you need help understanding the QR code or accessing your copy.
