General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.
Paracetamol may appear alone or with other ingredients in a medicine. Taking several products that contain it can add up and cause serious liver damage.
A brand name or different box colour does not rule out duplication. Check each product’s ingredients, including medicines used for pain, fever or cold symptoms.
Before another dose, show the pharmacist what you have already used. Give the complete names, formulations, amounts taken and times, including medicines from an earlier prescription.
Liver or kidney disease and other circumstances may change the precautions required. Have a professional check your situation rather than follow instructions intended for somebody else.
If you suspect an overdose, contact a poison centre immediately, even without symptoms. For loss of consciousness or breathing difficulties, call 15 or 112 in France. Keep the packaging available.
To prevent another mix-up, ask which products share the same ingredient and what instructions apply to your treatment. Keep the explanation with your medicines and follow the relevant prescription or leaflet.
