General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.

Pneumococcus is a bacterium that can cause infections, including some pneumonias, meningitis and bloodstream infections. Preventing these infections is a separate question from preventing influenza or Covid-19.

Since April 2025, the French pneumococcal vaccination recommendation includes everyone aged 65 and over. Separate recommendations also apply to some younger people with particular risk factors.

Before requesting vaccination, find the names and dates of any doses already received. A previous pneumococcal vaccine may affect the next step; the professional checks your history rather than making assumptions.

Mention chronic illnesses and treatments that weaken immune defences. Vaccine selection and timing require professional assessment. A general recommendation is not an individual schedule to follow on your own.

The Pharmacie Kennedy Mulhouse Doctolib Vaccination link lets you choose the pneumococcal appointment reason. The pharmacy checks whether vaccination can be carried out and its coverage; an online reason does not guarantee immediate availability.

You can also gather broader prevention questions through our Faire le point sur ma santé page. Mon bilan prévention and the vaccination procedure have separate conditions and appointment routes.

Flu and Covid-19: the 2026–2027 campaign

The national flu and Covid-19 vaccination campaign starts on 13 October 2026. In Doctolib, choose “Vaccination antigrippale (Grippe)” or “Vaccination COVID-19” for the vaccination you want to discuss.

Bring your carte Vitale and, for flu, your coverage voucher if you have one. The professional checks the recommendations and coverage conditions that apply to you.

The pharmacy checks whether vaccination and coverage apply based on the vaccine, your age and your circumstances.
