General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.

Recognition of disabled worker status, called RQTH in France, is an administrative decision intended to support access to employment or job retention. It concerns, among others, people whose work opportunities are reduced by an impairment of a function.

RQTH can open access to workplace or schedule adjustments and employment support measures. It is not compulsory to work or train; the practical adjustment should be discussed according to individual needs.

The application is personal: the person concerned, or their legal representative if necessary, makes it. Disclosing RQTH to an employer is not compulsory; if the person chooses to disclose it, the employer can put adjustments in place.

Without a simultaneous application for the adult disability allowance, apply to the MDPH in your department, online if it offers that service or using the paper form. A first AAH application or renewal automatically starts an RQTH procedure.

Check the documents required for your application, including proof of identity and address. An official tool helps check whether a medical certificate is needed for the request and, for a renewal, whether the situation has changed.

The commission examines the application and states the duration of recognition in its decision. If time-limited, renewal is not automatic: Service Public recommends applying four months before it ends.
