General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.

In France, 114 is the free public emergency service for deaf, deafblind, hard-of-hearing or aphasic people, available day and night. If an emergency is already happening, contact it immediately through an available method; do not wait to set up the app or attend a preventive appointment.

Before an emergency, install the official Urgence 114 app through the service’s links. Prepare your contact details following its instructions.

The app offers French Sign Language or spoken communication with written replies. Video communication requires an internet connection.

SMS to 114 requires an active SIM and network coverage. The FAQ states that MMS messages do not reach the service.

Use simple words for the situation, the victim’s name and age, and the exact address: town, street, number and floor.

Correct a saved message’s address when elsewhere. Answer questions; if your SMS receives no reply after one minute, send it again.
