Covid vaccination and fertility: what does official evidence show?

Evidence presented by Santé publique France does not show fertility harm from Covid vaccines. Separate this question from menstrual symptoms and your own circumstances.

General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.

Fear of a fertility effect can delay a vaccination decision. Vaccination Info Service, run by Santé publique France, states that the evidence it presents does not suggest an effect of Covid vaccines on fertility.

The same source states that no plausible biological mechanism supports a harmful effect on female fertility. Claims connecting antibodies against the Spike protein with infertility are not supported by the evidence presented there.

A menstrual change and fertility harm are different questions. Abnormal bleeding needs appropriate medical advice; its appearance after an injection does not establish a diagnosis of infertility by itself.

If you already have difficulty conceiving or receive medical follow-up, tell the professional supporting you. They can consider the concern within that care, without automatically attributing a difficulty to vaccination or promising a future pregnancy.

Prepare your question and the information causing concern, including its source and date. Mention any pregnancy plans in the discussion before vaccination so the professional can check the recommendations and your circumstances before a possible injection.

Before choosing the vaccination pathway, ask about the available evidence and your relevant personal circumstances. A source reporting no fertility signal is not an individual guarantee of fertility.

Flu and Covid-19: the 2026–2027 campaign

The national flu and Covid-19 vaccination campaign starts on 13 October 2026. In Doctolib, choose “Vaccination antigrippale (Grippe)” or “Vaccination COVID-19” for the vaccination you want to discuss.

Bring your carte Vitale and, for flu, your coverage voucher if you have one. The professional checks the recommendations and coverage conditions that apply to you.

The pharmacy checks whether vaccination and coverage apply based on the vaccine, your age and your circumstances.
