Pharmacy vaccination: authority and recommendation are separate questions

An appointment type does not establish a personal recommendation. Understand checks involving the vaccine, your circumstances and the professional.

General information, not an individual diagnosis. Ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure about your situation.

A vaccination appointment type identifies your request. By itself, it does not confirm that the vaccine is recommended for you. The relevant checks still need to take place before vaccination.

Ameli describes pharmacists' authority for vaccines in the current schedule, following its recommendations. It specifies separate arrangements: flu vaccination from age 11 and Covid-19 vaccination from age 5.

A recommendation answers a different question: why might this vaccine be useful now? Age, previous vaccinations and medical circumstances can matter. Prepare that question rather than treating an appointment label as the answer.

Professional authority also has limits. For example, the extension does not include prescribing live vaccines for immunocompromised people. Tell the professional about relevant circumstances so they can explain the appropriate care pathway.

Coverage has separate conditions. Ask about the vaccine and the injection individually. A professional's authority to administer a vaccine does not establish your entitlement to reimbursement.

In the vaccination block, select the relevant type, such as flu or Covid-19. The team checks applicable conditions before vaccination. Mon bilan prévention is a separate appointment.

Flu and Covid-19: the 2026–2027 campaign

The national flu and Covid-19 vaccination campaign starts on 13 October 2026. In Doctolib, choose “Vaccination antigrippale (Grippe)” or “Vaccination COVID-19” for the vaccination you want to discuss.

Bring your carte Vitale and, for flu, your coverage voucher if you have one. The professional checks the recommendations and coverage conditions that apply to you.

The pharmacy checks whether vaccination and coverage apply based on the vaccine, your age and your circumstances.
